Happy Tots Day Nursery, located in Oshawa, is your best local daycare provider in the area. We’re proud to provide a loving, caring environment for children. We have children that come from all over the area, including Whitby and Courtice. Our location is pretty much perfect. We’re located close to schools, parks, bus stops and the GO train station, as well as the exit to the 401.
"Children come here to play to learn and learn to play"
People may think that play comes naturally but it doesn’t. We teach children many skills associated with playing. Through an experiential learning structure, we teach sharing, respect for themselves and others and work toward building cognitive and emotional development, and developing fine muscle and motor control.
We’re licensed for fifty-six children, broken down to ten toddlers and forty-six pre-schoolers. We currently have available spots in the toddler group and the pre-schooler group.
Happy Tots Day Nursery first opened its doors in May 1971, in Oshawa, Ontario. Five months later, current Administrative Supervisor and Owner, Lydia Francis, came on board. Lydia loves working with, and helping children, as well as watching them progress from toddler to pre-schooler.
Since the day care has been in business for over thirty-eight years, they have many children who Lydia and her staff of eight full-time and two part-time workers, have watched grow up. One little girl entered the day care when she was sixteen months. Now she’s eight! Another little boy is seven but began attending Happy Tots Day Nursery at seventeen months!
It’s not just current children who are loyal daycare attendees. They actually have children whose parents went there when they were little boys and girls! Lydia admits parents are often amazed that she remembers them.
